Dear Students,

In accordance with human rights, everyone should receive education under equal conditions. Education is the most important basis for the development of an individual's horizons and for actively and effectively participating and producing in life . Equality of opportunity is essential for this most basic need. For this reason, it is unacceptable for the individual to waive his right to education and training due to a sensory or physical disability. The remaining potential cannot be ignored or wasted due to a limitation in the individual's body.

Disability is not just a phenomenon within the person; because the real disability is nothing but the hindrance caused because of the indifference of some people at service who lack the notion of accessibility and barrier-free life. Because the 'obstacle' to individuals is the person who constructs buildings or designs landscape without considering universal design. Unfortunately, when we look around us today, we can see many reasons why people prefer to stay at home.On the other hand, fortunately, we see that some steps have been taken in this regard recently and awareness for a barrier-free life is increasing. We are proud to say that the awareness is available at Marmara University.

Our aim, as a unit, is to provide a barrier-free educational life to our students with disabilities at our university, which is highly reputable and well-established. By supporting each other, we have shared many good things and achieved successes, and we will experience even better developments. All our efforts are for an equal and barrier-free life…
